Golden Globes Roundup!

The 75th annual Golden Globe Awards aired earlier tonight, January 7, and we were at the edge of our seats waiting to see who’d take home the top awards in the film categories.

Best Motion Picture – Drama went to THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI, while LADY BIRD took home the award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The top actors’ awards went to Saoirse Ronan for LADY BIRD (musical or comedy), Frances McDormand for THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI; and Gary Oldman won best actor (drama) for his impeccable portrayal of Winston Churchill in DARKEST HOUR. For best lead actor (musical or comedy), James Franco took home the award for the film he also directed – THE DISASTER ARTIST – and he even brought the one and only Tommy Wiseau up on stage alongside him!

Best Director went to the one and only Guillermo del Toro. (If you missed his Q&A with us, you can see it here!)

Sam Rockwell won for best supporting actor in a motion picture: THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI.  I, TONYA’s Allison Janney took home best supporting actress for her portrayal of Tonya Harding’s brazen, hilarious and over-the-stop mother (and we love her for it).

THREE BILLBOARDS won Best Screenplay, Guillermo del Toro’s glorious THE SHAPE OF WATER took home Best Original Score, but Best Original Song went to the only live-action musical who had their hat in the ring – ‘This is Me” from THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.

All in all, it was a fantastic show, and we cannot wait to see what happens at the Academy Awards!
