Producer and star of Spoiler Alert Jim Parsons arrived at the Angelika Film Center in New York City to celebrate the opening of the film with a Q&A. Parsons delves into what it was like to see this project from start to finish, exploring themes of love, loss, and what it takes to bring a heartfelt memoir from page to screen.  

Parsons describes the emotions he went through reading the original memoir – Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies by Michael Ausiello – and how much he connected to the author. He speaks of sharing the story with his husband, and his immediate desire to bring the inspirational story to screen. Through the process of working with author Michael Ausiello, whom Parsons played in the film, they were able to bring this deeply personal story to the big screen- and to a much wider audience.  

Spoiler Alert stars Emmy award winner Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory, Hidden Figures) and Ben Aldridge (Fleabag, Pennyworth) as narrator Michael Ausiello and his partner Kit Cowan, and features Sally Field (Forrest Gump, Steel Magnolias) and Bill Irwin (Interstellar, Rachel Getting Married) as Kit’s parents, and directed by Michael Showalter (Wet Hot American Summer, The Big Sick).
